The Best Bad Thing to Happen in a Very Long Time

I will also note that if it weren’t for the great State of Massachusetts giving me “free insurance” many years ago. I wouldn’t be alive and here today! So thank you Massachusetts!

How to really Break the Law for Health Care Reform:

How to Break the Law for Health Care Reform:

(Note this fact: In the United States, there is no such thing as refusal of Emergency room visits.)

1. So I propose that every single person that doesn’t have health care coverage in the United States, go to your nearest Emergency room.

2. Once you are there tell them “You can’t find your ID, and or credit cards” but you do need medical treatment. Legally they cannot refuse service to you.

3. Then give the name “John Doe” or maybe make up something new so you don’t seem that obvious and always include a fake social security number and address to boot.

4. Get the medical treatment you need.

5. Thank them profusely-then ask them to bill you.

6. Then leave right away.

7. Repeat as needed.

Imagine if every single person without healthcare did this? We’d bankrupt the hospitals forcing them to crash collectively and then they would be forced to commit to reform.

These is all wishful thinking, but try to do it-Break the law, there’s nothing more Patriotic than standing up to United States of America and the corporate machine to say “I won’t take it anymore”.

I just really like this picture and House.

Thats all,

The Oscars 2010 -a few random notes-

I really do hope these few people and or films get some recognition:

1. The movie “UP”-its brilliant even though I will say and cite that they actual story of UP does resemble a children’s book-story I read that is from the 1920s called “The Twenty-One Balloons” by William Pène du Bois.
Here is a link to 21 Balloons on Wikipedia:

The stories aren’t completely the same but the concepts could be called twins. I’m not calling anyone a thief I’m just saying they sound alike. I really would like “UP” to win for best screenplay or for best picture. I know it won’t happen.

2. “Precious”-I love this film and I love the screenplay. In my last blog I was not insulting the screenwriter (who came from a pretty wealthy background) but I was complimenting him for his work. Geoffrey Fletcher is a great writer for being able to step outside himself and adapt this rich sad book into a wonderfully honest and real screenplay. Also, I think Gabourey Sidibe, and Mo’Nique both deserves Oscars.

3. “The Hurt Locker-“Best director”-I can’t explain it’s the truth, she knocked the world on its knees. Maybe best screenplay too. I am pretty un-decided on this topic since there are a few really great screenplays out there for this season.

4. “An Education-This film needs to win a few Oscars-best adapted screenplay,or best actress ala Carrie Mulligan. It’s a real tie in my mind with few others films for a bunch of awards. I am glad it won so many BAFTA awards.

4. Woody Harrelson-best supporting actor for “The Messenger”, let’s face it as well here, he deserved an Oscar for 1994’s “Natural Born Killers.”

5. Jeff Bridges-best actor-for “Crazy Heart”. My second pick is Toby McGuire who was really overlooked by critics. Let’s all face it Bridges deserved an Oscar for 1991’s “The Fisher King”.

6. Best music “Crazy Heart” some great music by a local fellow Ryan Bingham who has been kicking around Hollywood for a few years who hails from Hobbs, New Mexico.

7. Maggie Gyllenhaal-for her work in “Crazy Heart”. She just floored all of us.

8. “The White Ribbon” for best Foreign film. An instant classic for sure.

My big question is which one is best screenplay, Up, The Hurt Locker, Precious, or An Education? I really can’t decide this year.

That’s all I have to say, sorry for the sloppiness. I am just too busy wrapping up my new novel to be blogging very much these days. I’d rather create than criticize any day….

My new silly Funny or Die video….aka Dug the Dog

Okay before you watch this let me explain why I made it.

1. It was easy to make.

2. I have the world’s cutest dog.

3. I like to poke fun at the silliness of celebrity, awards shows and those douchebags (that are sometimes human)at TMZ.

4. It took me just 2hours to make via my flip camera, 1 hour to shoot and then one hour to edit and add music and render.

5. I think animals are so humble-they bring us all down a notch-no matter who you are.

Disclaimer:
I know there are some typos in the credits and I need to re-edit it down to a shorter version. Or do some editing-I literally didn’t cut one frame and just pasted it all together.

Thanks and enjoy-

PS. I hope both Disney and TMZ have senses of humor and don’t sue me after all.

My dog Mr. Benjamin Button also did a cameo of the famed Koldcast TV, Youtube webseries “Space Hospital” he can be seen in this episode here: Season 2 of Space Hosptial episode 1
